A graduate of Fine Arts from Cal State University Fullerton, I was a traditional figure painter for most of my career. Using acrylic and watercolor to paint portraits and murals throughout Los Angeles. Shortly after moving to Taos, New Mexico in 1997 I started working in digital collage and mixed media. Recent shows include "Recombinant Art: a solo exhibit of 36 new images at the105 Gallery in Albuquerque, NM. 2011 . "New Mix New Mex" mixed media artists at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque NM, 2008. My art was also selected to tour in "Artack" a group show of urban art that toured europe including Paris, Brussels and Berlin 2010 & 11. Currently represented by the Pop Gallery in Santa Fe NM, and Busacca Gallery, San Francisco CA.
I work in mixed media and collage, recombining old art in new ways. Working with digital samples and mashing up images to create familiar yet fresh and modern works of art. Comentary on art history with a modern perspective and hybrid process. By cutting, pasting, altering and recombining, found imagery I create new myths, icons, saints & sinners, gods & goddesses for our modern times. The end results are stretched canvases that have been individually hand embellish using acrylic paint, gold leaf, digital and traditional collage methods.
